Photographer, philosopher, writer, traveller, woman.

In no particular order.

I was born and raised in Romania at a time when borders were closed and freedom of expression was reprimanded. As a child I’d always said I wanted to become a ‘foreign artist’ when I was older. With the dramatic political changes in 1989, in my teens, the world became my oyster! I made England my home in my 20s. 

My passion for photography has been a constant throughout my life and is undoubtedly in my genes! I remember fondly my dad’s homemade darkroom where I experienced the magic of seeing an image appear on paper for the first time. I still use my granddad’s 100-year-old Voigtlander camera for fun every once in a while! 

I’ve always been a bit of a rebel when it comes to making life choices: from deciding to pursue a degree in philosophy when everyone else was studying to become a lawyer or an accountant, to moving countries and starting from scratch, and finally at the age of 40 giving up a financially rewarding career to pursue my dream of running my photography business!

Now I own and run Light and Imagination, based in Whitstable Kent, with my life-and-business-partner Matt. We also run fully tutored and guided photography tours outside of the UK through our Photo Tour company Click Click Travel.  

When I have time (not often) and I don’t have a camera in my hand, I love to chill in the sun or in front of an open fire, write fiction, take long walks along the coast, do some yoga or listen to jazz with a nice glass of wine. I am in love with everything Art Nouveau and Art Deco, classic and art films.
